This winery is absolutely perfect for a weekend evening getaway. Focusing on red wines in the Bordeaux style, Mountfair offers an intimate setting for an evening meal. The wines are often served personally by the owners of the vineyard, and on Saturday nights there is always local musical entertainment and a great bonfire. You’ll be able to enjoy fine wine and quality entertainment while soaking up the mountain view looking out over a picturesque pond from the patio.
While Mountfair doesn’t produce any white wines, you’ll be able to find them stocked in the fridge if you need some variety during your evening. On Saturdays, a food truck offers the opportunity to enjoy fine food with fine wines, and of course, you’re always free to bring your own picnic food.

White Hall Vineyards has been producing top quality Virginia wines for more than 20 years. The winery offers a couple of different tours and tasting packages, both of which include tasting, a tour, and free glasses. In addition, if you book a tour and tasting package, the vineyard will offer a discount on any purchases you make during your visit.
White Hall wines offer a richer, more fruit forward taste than many other Virginia wines, and have been awarded the Governor’s Cup award twice. The winery grows several varieties of grapes on 45 acres of top quality Virginia soil. If you’re looking to host a special family event this summer, White Hall has a larger banquet hall available for use.

Located in a restored historic 1796 home, Stinson is run by father-daughter team Scott and Rachel Stinson. Wines made at Stinson are in a traditional French style, and tastings are affordable at just $7 per person. The winery can also accommodate larger groups of 10 or more with a day’s notice, making this a great destination for a larger group vacationing together.
The tasting room is unique in that it is built into a renovated 3-car garage on the property, offering absolutely gorgeous panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The tasting room also has a number of farm goods on offer, including grass-fed beef and organic, free-range eggs.
We’ve told you about quite a few great Virginia wines so far this season, and we’re sure you and yours will have as much fun with them as we have. Check back for more fine Virginia wineries soon as we continue our Skyline Drive Wine Tour.
